Bountiful August

The wildflowers on the property and around the island are finishing up their amazing display. The last of these include Goldenrod, Fireweed, and Queen Ann’s Lace. It is also the season for berries, flowering annuals, and the garden. I have lavender, oregano, Pearly Everlasting, and garlic hanging up in my house to dry. My freezer is stocked with bags of wild blueberries, black currants, and wild raspberries. There are many days here in the summer when I feel blessed to be here.
