Colourful Shoulder Bags

The Victoria County Creates Gallery in Baddeck asked me to do some demos. I designed some shoulder bags where I could create the main fabric on my table loom, suitable for demonstrating weaving. I used a colour exercise to come up with the fabric design. The straps were woven on the floor loom. The buttons are antiques – plastic! Who knew that plastic could now come in vintage! Still, they worked nicely. I made three bags; one sold before I could photograph it. Each has an inside pocket and is big enough to carry a notebook or sketch pad 10″ x 12″. The wide range of colours seems to have my camera a bit confused – I don’t think the real colours (which were nice and clean) came though exactly – the close up is the best representation of the colours.
