Green and Blue Ikat Scarves

There was a bit of resistance to creating another set of ikat scarves right before the Fibre Festival in Baddeck, given how much work they are. Nevertheless I decided to go ahead and did this set with an additional colour, green. The blue looks like indigo (although it is a commercial dye) and I like that the green looks like the colour of the dye bath and the dyed fabric when first removed from an indigo dye bath before the dye oxidizes. Next year I may work with the real thing. Working with the extra colour meant an extra dye bath but the result was worth it!

Love the final colors. Want to buy one … the primarily blue one. Write to me.

  2. Thanks Ruth. As it happens all the scarves in this series are sold. More next spring/summer!
